Someone You Know is a new contemporary musical that is based on true events following the lives of two women, Lindsay and Abbi, who survive sexual assault and rape. The ripple effect of this event not only influences their own individual stories but also the lives of all those around them. Although the two women do not know each other, they share similar experiences, illustrating that we often suffer in silence alone next to someone you know.   

Someone You Know (formerly billed as “Survivor Story: A Workshop”) has completed multiple readings in Chicago, a fully staged workshop in Chicago in 2017, a second workshop performance at Eòlia Conservatory in Barcelona in 2018, and had select songs featured in a Domino Productions cabaret night in 2019 (Burbank, CA). 

According to RAINN’s 2022 statistics- in every 68 seconds that passes, another American is sexually assaulted, but only 25 out of every 1,000 perpetrators are sentenced to time in prison. 1 out of every 6 American women has experienced an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime, and 90% of survivors of rape are female.
